Child Nutrition

Autauga County Schools' Child Nutrition Program is a federal program that provides for the nutritional needs of students by providing breakfast and lunch under the best possible health and safety conditions according to USDA requirements. CNP is a vital piece of the district's educational services, serving more than one million lunches and 450,000 breakfasts annually. In addition to these hot meals, snacks are provided to after school program participants.

The Purpose of Collecting Race and Ethnicity Data For School Meal Programs is to ensure compliance with federal civil rights regulations:

  • Race and ethnicity data collected determines how effectively School Meal Programs are reaching potentially eligible students,
  • provision of this data is voluntary
  • responses are kept confidential, and
  • responses have no effect on eligibility.
