The Autauga County Board of Education's proposed ad valorem school tax referendum, designed to stabilize the system's financial foundation, was voted down in a 62-38 percent defeat during the general election. Of the 26,623 voters, nearly two-thirds chose to deny the school district's request for additional funding. "Obviously, we are disappointed," expressed Superintendent Woodfin. "We set out to get a mandate from the people, one way or another, and based on the results, our citizens have spoken. Property taxes are not on the table, so it's back to square one to give our students and teachers what they need."

Autauga County Schools hosted its inaugural Basketball Media Day for the district's high school programs under the leadership of Blake Boren, Prattville High School's new Athletic Director. The event was hosted at Huey Magoo's - a generous athletics sponsor - with Doug Amos from the MAX Round Table Show on ESPN 107.5 The Ticket live broadcasting inside and the boys and girls basketball programs from Autaugaville, Marbury, Billingsley, and Prattville High School, along with the PHS wrestling team, holding interviews on the restaurant's front porch. Coach Boren opened the event, expressing his excitement for the day and appreciating the sponsors, which include Huey Magoo's, BSN, and the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce.

In Autauga County Schools, buses transports 4,300 students on 132 different buses to and from school every day.
